PlusOne Solutions, Inc. is accredited by the Background Screening Agency Accreditation Program (BSAAP) awarded by the National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS), an honor held by less than 2% of over 5,000 Consumer Reporting Agencies in the US since the accreditation was introduced in 2010.

Similar to many accreditation programs in other industries, the BSAAP takes 12-18 months, on average, to prepare for. The accreditation uses both a desk and onsite audit conducted by an independent external auditor. This process involves a review of all policies and documents, selective auditing of records to prove compliance and direct discussions with staff to ensure policies are understood and followed at all levels of the organization. To ensure continued compliance with the standards and measurements against any changes in the industry, an interim audit occurs at 3 years, and a full recertification audit is completed in the 5th year.

Governed by a strict and thorough set of professional standards, the BSAAP has become a widely recognized seal of approval that brings national recognition to a Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) for its commitment to excellence, accountability, high professional standards and continued institutional improvement. The program is similar to SSAE16, (formerly SAS70), and ISO certifications but is specifically geared towards measuring excellence in the background screening industry to address the Fair Credit Reporting Act practices and procedures as well as receiving and maintaining sensitive information, privacy programs, and data protection.

Accredited firms must demonstrate compliance with standards in the areas of Data Information and Security, Legal and Compliance, Client Education, Data Standards, and other Business Practices. The standards enforce strong data management and security that results in the highest levels of consumer protection. All processes must be formally documented and employees must be trained to the standards therein.
